VIKTOR MAZHLEKOV - PINTURA - BULGÁRIA

Viktor Mazhlekov is a contemporary artist born in 1979 in Bulgaria. His unusual style, which he calls astral postrealism, has evolved with its uncommon atmosphere, forms, and colours. The artist uses a unique painting technique, which is extremely time-consuming, so usually just a few paintings can be made per year. His art is popular all over the world, and his artworks are kept in many private collections. To the moment, Viktor has had 7 personal exhibitions around Europe.

I like to experiment with oil paints, and I do use different techniques to lay the paint on canvas. I do my paintings using many layers, thus trying to achieve the effects of depth, density and colour playfulness. On the other hand this prolongs the period of creating an oil painting, which often takes more than a month.

Do you know, that: Astral postrealism is an artistic style the gravity field of which is the study of emotions and perceptions. The leading idea of this trend is not that much the ability for intellectual understanding and rationalizing of matters as the talent to feel things deeply and integrate them into authentic mental universes. The style gains distinction with its bright palette of colours and rich expressiveness of details. They all contribute to the building of composition made of forms beyond the actual existence; forms which tear apart all limits of our long-established ideas and take us on a journey to the kingdom of original purity. There, eliminating all conventionalities, it reveals to us different physical laws, unusual perspectives and a sense of visual diving into the subconscious. The impact of the astral postrealism is magnetic and fancy. It merges dreams with reality. It unlocks the various powers of creativity, provokes them to explore unknown emotional depths and unleashes the imagination to make it simple and pure as that of a child :)

Abertura: 20 de outubro
Em cartaz até 19 de novembro

A próxima edição do projeto Zip’Up abriga a individual “And listen to the wind blow”, da paulistana Diana Motta.

GENESIS
“When the world was created man was created by the end of the process. All the animals were created first. In the story of Genesis when man was created all the animals in the fields feared man, and the reason they feared man is because of the amount of light that was shining and emanating from him. But something happened. The moment that Adam ate from the Tree of Knowledge Good and Bad the world turned around. Instead of the animals fearing man, man is now fearing animals. How could it possibly be? What changed over night?  The story of creation, the Tree Of Knowledge Good and Bad and the Tree of Life, represent two types of awareness. The awareness of the flawless universe, the awareness of mind over matter, the awareness of the Light versus the Tree of knowledge Good and Bad awareness of the roller coaster: one day is good one day is bad, I’m constantly reactive of what goes around me (…) What happened to Adam in the Garden of Eden is that he chose to leave the Tree of Life that had tranquility and peace. And you ask yourself why it’s even possible. But you know that the highest rate of divorce is in perfect marriages? Tranquility kills us. It’s too boring? Is it too obvious? Yes. So we run to the world of stimulation, of grabbing, taking, insecurity, ups and downs.
The moment we make this choice the world is reversed and instead of us being in control of the animals of the field, of reality - the other way around - they are controlling us. The nature of the animal kingdom is to fear, is to awe, is to appreciate the light that man brought in to the world. Why? because man is the only creature that has the free choice, the ability to control, the ability to choose it’s destiny.
The world came into place that a person is afraid of a mosquito.”

About my current series.....Therapy and the arts

I am working on a series of paintings about my experience with mental health. Not only as a licensed therapist, but as an artist and a consumer of MHS. Each painting explores the visual image of emotions associated with a current mental health diagnoses and are meant to stimulate an emotional reaction from the viewer.

As artists we are barometers of society, we study the history of art history and the use of different mediums.
As a therapist I am witness to the pain and suffering of others on a frequent basis. I study the human mind, behaviors and different ways to improve the existence of my clients.
